Pump, Water: Installation: 4.7L

- Clean the gasket mating surfaces.
- Using a new gasket, position water pump and install the mounting bolts. Tighten the water pump mounting bolts to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
- Spin the water pump to be sure that the pump impeller does not rub against the timing chain case/cover.
- Connect the radiator lower hose to the water pump.
- Install accessory drive belt tensioner Refer to TENSIONER, BELT, INSTALLATION .
- Install the drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the radiator fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, ELECTRIC, INSTALLATION or FAN, COOLING, VISCOUS, INSTALLATION .
- Evacuate air and refill the cooling system. Refer to PUMP, WATER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Check cooling system for leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
