4500 And 5500

  1. Remove the axle shaft from the axle.
  2. Remove the steering knuckle. Refer to KNUCKLE, Steering , Removal .

  3. Position special tool (special tool #9859-4, Cup, Receiver) (RECEIVER) (4) and (special tool #9859-3, Disc, Ball Joint Remover) (DRIVER) (2) with tool (special tool #C-4212F, Press, Ball Joint) (PRESS) (1) shown in illustration to remove lower ball stud.
