Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2.
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- (T5) AUTOSTICK® (ERS) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the AutoStick® (ERS) Switch harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage of the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.
Is the voltage above 5.0 volts?
Yes
- Repair the short to voltage in the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3.
- AUTOSTICK® (ERS) SWITCH
- Turn the ignition off.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit and the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit in the AutoStick® (ERS) Switch harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 4.
No
- Replace the AutoStick® (ERS) Switch in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to LEVER, GEARSHIFT, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- (T5) AUTOSTICK® (ERS) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Cluster C3 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.
Is the resistance above 10.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the open in the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5.
- (L900) HEADLAMP SWITCH MUX RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit.
Is the resistance above 10.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the open in the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit.
