Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2.

      No 

      • Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
  2. (T5) AUTOSTICK® (ERS) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Shift Lever Assembly (Floor Shift) harness connector.
    3. Disconnect the AutoStick® (ERS) Switch (Column Shift) harness connector.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Measure the voltage of the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.

      Is the voltage above 5.0 volts?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to voltage in the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  3.
  3. SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY (FLOOR SHIFT) / AUTOSTICK® (ERS) SWITCH (COLUMN SHIFT) 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit and the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit in the Shift Lever Assembly / AutoStick® (ERS) Switch harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4.

      No 

      • Replace the Shift Lever Assembly (Floor Shift) / AutoStick® (ERS) Switch (Column Shift) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. (T5) AUTOSTICK® (ERS) SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Cluster C3 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.

      Is the resistance above 10.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the open in the (T5) AutoStick® (ERS) Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  5.
  5. (L900) HEADLAMP SWITCH MUX RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    1. Measure the resistance of the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit.

      Is the resistance above 10.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the open in the (L900) Headlamp Switch MUX Return circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Replace the Cluster in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
