Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2.

      No 

      • The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CENTER HIGH MOUNTED STOP/CARGO LAMP

    1. Disconnect the Center High Mounted Stop/Cargo Lamp harness connector.
    2. Turn the Cargo Lamp on.
    3. Using a test light, measure the voltage across the (L14) Cargo Lamp Driver circuit and (Z905) Ground circuits at the Center High Mounted Stop/Cargo Lamp harness connector.

      Does the test light illuminate?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3.
  3. (Z905) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Using a test light connected to 12 volts, measure the resistance to ground of the (Z905) Ground circuit at the Center High Mounted Stop/Cargo Lamp harness connector.

      Does the test light illuminate?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4.

      No 

      • Repair the open in the (Z905) Ground circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. (L14) CARGO LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

    1. Disconnect the Cluster C1 harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the (L14) Cargo Lamp Driver circuit.

      Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Cluster in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Repair the open in the (L14) Cargo Lamp Driver circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
