Diagnostic Test

    NOTE:

    If the scan tool shows this DTC has a Stored history of setting then the left front impact sensor is to be replaced.

    NOTE:

    Make sure the battery is fully charged.

  1. VERIFY ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition ON.
    2. With the scan tool, read ORC DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display active B0090-49-LEFT FRONTAL RESTRAINTS SENSOR - INTERNAL ELECTRONIC FAILURE DTC or did the DTC set the Stored history setting?

      Yes 

        WARNING:

        Turn the ignition off, disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

      • Replace the Left Front Impact Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to SENSOR, IMPACT, REMOVAL .
      • Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  and perform the RESTRAINT SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST.

      No (Did not set a active or stored DTC B0090-49- LEFT FRONTAL SENSOR - INTERNAL ELECTRONIC FAILURE)
