Power Seat System
When a power seat switch is actuated, a battery feed and a ground path are applied through the power seat switch contacts to the appropriate motor or motors. The motor and drive unit operate to move the seat adjuster, seat back or lumbar support (when equipped) in the selected direction until the switch is released, or until the travel limit of the drive unit is reached. When the switch is moved in the opposite direction, the battery feed and ground path to the motor is reversed through the switch contacts. This causes the motor to run in the opposite direction. Power seats remain operational, regardless of the ignition switch position.
When equipped with memory seat system, anytime a driver power seat motor or seat track is replaced, the Memory Seat Module (MSM) must be cleared of all learned parameters using a scan tool and the Power Seat System Verification test must be performed.
The motors, gearboxes and linkage for the power seat adjuster and power reclining seat back cannot be adjusted or serviced separately. If a motor, gearbox or linkage for the power seat adjuster or power recliner becomes inoperative or damaged, the entire power seat adjuster and pan assembly, or the seat back frame assembly must be replaced. Refer to COVER, SEAT BACK, MEGA CAB REAR, REMOVAL .
