NOTE:

The park assist sensors (3), the sensor bezel and mounting bracket units (5) and the sensor spacers (also known as decoupling rings or O-rings) are each available for separate service replacement.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable from the battery.
  2. Working from the back side of the rear bumper (2), disconnect the wire harness connector (4) from the park assist sensor (3) connector receptacle.
  3. Carefully pry the latch features (1) of the sensor bezel and mounting bracket unit (5) away from the top and bottom latch tabs of the sensor far enough to disengage the sensor from the bracket.
  4. Disengage the resilient O-ring spacer from around the circumference of the sensor membrane protrusion.
    CAUTION:

Sensor damage will occur if the top of the sensor is twisted. When putting the o-ring on the sensor, do so delicately and ensure no excessive pressure and no twisting of the sensor head occurs

  5. If necessary, compress the four latch tabs of the sensor bezel and mounting bracket on the back side of the bumper and push the unit out through the face of the bumper.
