Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order, then erase DTCs.
    2. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
    3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition that caused this DTC to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the related wiring and connections.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. PROGRAM THE BCM, ERASE DTCS AND CHECK FOR THE DTC TO RETURN 
    1. With the scan tool, program the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
    2. With the scan tool, erase the EDM DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off for at least 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
    4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Replace the External Disc Module (EDM) in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
