Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) NOTE:
Diagnose and repair any BCM VIN or Communication DTCs before continuing with this test.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- VERIFY COMMUNICATION WITH BCM
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the bus.
Does the scan tool show the BCM active on the bus?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) and perform the No Response From BCM diagnostic procedure.
- With the scan tool, read the active modules on the bus.
- CHECK RADIO INFORMATION
- Perform a SINGLE VIN INQUIRY and compare the audio sales codes found under the OPTIONS tab for Standard Equipment, Optional Equipment and Dealer Installed Equipment to determine the correct Radio for the vehicle.
- Using the scan tool, verify the Radio part number for the vehicle is correct.
Is the correct Radio in the vehicle?
Yes
- Replace the Radio in accordance with Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Install the correct Radio to the vehicle.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
