Leaf Spring

NOTE:

If removed, install the spring rear shackle (1) and tighten the nut and bolt to specifications. Refer to  TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS  .

  1. Position spring on axle shaft tube so spring center bolt is inserted into the locating hole in the axle tube.
  2. Align the front spring eye (2) with the mount (3) and install the leaf spring to frame bolt and flag nut (1). Do not tighten.

  3. Install the rear spring shackle into the rear mount (2) and install the rear shackle to frame bolt and flag nut. Do not tighten.

  4. Install the spring clamp bolts (3), plate (2) and the leaf spring to axle nuts (1). Do not tighten. 
  5. Remove the holding fixture for the rear axle.
  6. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle so that the weight is being supported by the tires.
  7. Tighten the spring clamp retaining nuts (1) and the spring front and rear pivot bolts to specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
