Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR BCM CAN BUS DTCS 
    1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.

      Are there any BCM CAN BUS DTCs present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK IF BCM DTCS ARE PRESENT 
    1. With the scan tool, read BCM DTCs.
      NOTE:

      If you find any of these BCM codes set along with the U-1449 (B23B6-13, B23B6-1C, B23B6-2A), diagnose and repair the BCM codes before continuing with this diagnostic.

      NOTE:

      Customers resting their hand on the shifter while operating the vehicle, can cause this code to set.

      Are there any BCM DTCs present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Using the schematics as a guide, check the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST  .
