Module, External Disc: Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The External Disc Module (EDM) is controlled by the radio by sending and receiving data over a serial communication bus. An eject button is the only manual control.
The module operating temperature range is between -20°C and +65°C (-04°F and 149°F). Any continuous operation above 65°C (149°F) may shorten the operating life of the laser diode.
The CD mechanism will go into thermo shutdown at temperatures above +70°C (158°F). Normal function will resume when the near optics temperature goes below 65°C (149°F).
