6.7L Diesel

NOTE:
Thermostats for the Cummins diesel, while physically interchangeable, should not be mixed and matched. For model year 2010 and forward, the 6.7L diesel engine uses a 200° Fahrenheit thermostat. Confirm the temperature stamp on the thermostat rim prior to removal or installation.
- Inspect the thermostat seal for cuts or nicks. Replace if damaged.
- Install the thermostat into the groove in the top of the cylinder head.
- Install the thermostat housing and bolts (5). Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- Install the heat shield. Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (79 in. lbs.).
- Install the exhaust pressure tube (4). Tighten to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- Connect exhaust pressure sensor electrical connector (2).
- Install the EGR cross over tube (1).
- Install the P-clip and bolt. Tighten to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).
- Install the radiator upper hose and clamp.
- Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Standard Procedure .
- Connect the battery negative cables.
- Start the engine and check for any coolant leaks. Run engine to check for proper thermostat operation.
