The Final Drive Control Module (FDCM) will disengage the stabilizer bar when ALL of the following conditions are met:

- transfer case in 4 HI or 4 LO
- stabilizer bar switch in OFF ROAD position for at least 100 milliseconds
- ignition switch in the RUN or START position
- no stabilizer bar or communication faults detected by the FDCM
The FDCM will engage the stabilizer bar when ANY of the following condition are met:
- vehicle speed is 29 KPH (18 MPH) or greater, if switch is in OFF ROAD position, it will once again disengage once vehicle speed drops below 23KPH (14MPH) and all other conditions for disengagement are met
- stabilizer bar switch in ON ROAD position for at least 100 milliseconds
- transfer case in 2WD or NEUTRAL position
- ignition switch is removed from RUN or START position
- stabilizer bar or communication faults develop
The stabilizer bar will engage with loss of ignition switch, vehicle speed, transfer case, stabilizer bar switch signals, stabilizer bar or communication faults.
