WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The blower motor (1) is used to control the velocity of air moving through the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) housing assembly by spinning the blower wheel (2) at the selected or programmed speed (depending on control system application).
The blower motor is a 12-volt, direct current (DC) motor that is mounted within a plastic housing that has integral wire harness connector (3), integral mounting tabs (4) and the squirrel cage-type blower wheel secured to the blower motor shaft. The blower wheel is positioned within the air inlet housing on the passenger side end of the HVAC housing assembly.
