A relay located next to the fuel regulator, controls the applied voltage to the solenoid during key on condition. When voltage is applied. The solenoid is energized allowing the valve to overcome the tank pressure. When the valve is de-energized. A spring and tank pressure aid in sealing the valve against the valve seat allowing for a secure seal.

When filling of the cylinder tank occurs. The pressure from the fill station will over come the one way valves spring pressure, allowing the CNG to enter the tanks with out restriction.
