Solenoid, High Pressure Fuel Shut-Off: Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING:
Refer to FUEL DELIVERY, CNG, WARNING .
The high-pressure fuel shut-off solenoid is used as an on/off valve to electrically control high-pressure gas flowing through the fuel pressure regulator. It is operated by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The valve is closed when there is no powered supplied to the valve. When the shut down relay energizes, the solenoid valve opens.
The high-pressure fuel shut-off solenoid is a part of the fuel pressure regulator. To replace the solenoid, the fuel pressure regulator assembly must be replaced. Refer to REGULATOR, FUEL PRESSURE for procedures.
