Cylinder, Fuel: Installation

- If removed, install the cylinder tank cage base (1) around the manual shut off valve (2). Tighten the bolt (3) to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.).
- Install the cylinder tank manual shut off cage. Hand tighten the bolts.CAUTION:
It is highly recommended when moving or transporting the CNG cylinder tanks that they are covered with a blanket to avoid scratching or damaging the tanks.
- Secure the fuel tank onto a suitable hydraulic jack with (special tool #10380, Sling, CNG, Lifting)
- Raise and position the fuel tank leaving room to clear the vehicle bed.
- Align the cylinder tank (3) to the tank support (4).
- Remove the (special tool #10380, Sling, CNG, Lifting).
- Loosely install the lines to the cylinder tank.
- Install the cylinder tank strap (1).
- Tighten the strap bolts to 53 N.m (39 ft. lbs.).
- Connect the electrical connector (5) to the cylinder tank shut down solenoid.
- Tighten the cylinder pressure fittings (6, 8) to 35 N.m (26 ft. lbs.).
- If removed, install the supply line from the 1/4 turn valve (2). Tighten fitting to 35 N.m (26 ft. lbs.).
- Open the cylinder tank manual valves and the 1/4 turn valve.
- Fill the CNG system.
- Check for leaks using an air leak detection fluid on all the fittings.
- If removed, position the cylinder tank cage (4, 5) onto the cage base (2). Loosely install the outer bolts (1, 3).
- Install the 1/4 turn valve mounting bracket (2) to the cages. Tighten the bolts to 21 N.m (16 ft. lbs.).
- Tighten the 1/4 turn valve to bracket screws (3) to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
- Install the cylinder tank covers (2, 4).
- Tighten the bolts (1, 5 and 6) to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
- Install the cylinder tank cover support bracket. Tighten the bolts (2) to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
- Connect the negative battery cable (1).
- Start the engine and check for leaks using an air leak detection fluid at all fuel tank connections.
