Tank, Fuel: Installation

  1. If removed, install the fuel pump module. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, INSTALLATION .
  2. Position the fuel tank assembly onto a transmission jack.
  3. Raise fuel tank assembly up to frame.
  4. Install fuel tank straps (4). Tighten the nuts (5) to 61 N.m (45 ft. lbs.).
  5. Remove the transmission jack.

  6. Connect the fuel return and supply line quick-connect fittings (4 and 5).

  7. Connect the fuel sending unit wire harness connector (1).

  8. Connect the fuel vapor hose (2) to tank fitting (1).

  9. Install the vent hoses (4) to tank fitting and securely tighten clamp (3).
  10. Install the filler hoses (6) to tank fitting and securely tighten clamp.
  11. Remove support and lower the vehicle.
  12. Connect both of the negative battery cables.
  13. Fill tank and check for leaks.
