Pan, Oil: Installation

- Clean the oil pan gasket mating surface of the block and oil pan.NOTE: Mopar® Engine RTV must be applied to the four T-joints (1,2). The bead of RTV should cover the bottom of the gasket. This area is approximately 4.5 mm x 25 mm in each of the four T-joint locations.
- Apply Mopar® Engine RTV at the T- joints (1,2).NOTE: When the oil pan is removed, a new integral windage tray and gasket assembly must be installed. The old gasket cannot be reused.
- Install a NEW
integral windage tray.NOTE: The oil pump pick-up tube can be installed with the oil pan in position.
- Using NEW O-rings, install the oil pump pickup tube.
- NOTE: The double ended oil pan studs must be installed in the same location that they were removed from.
Install the oil pick-up tube bolt (2), nut (1) and tighten to the proper TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Position the oil pan and install the bolts and studs. Tighten the mounting bolts in the tightening sequence shown to 14 N.m (10 ft. lbs.).
- Attach the wire harness retainers to the oil pan stud.
Install the transmission oil cooler line assembly retaining clip (2) onto the engine oil pan stud.
- Install the transmission oil cooler line support bracket bolt and tighten to the proper TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
- Install the structural cover. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Fill engine with the recommended engine oil. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start engine and check for leaks.
