Cooler And Hoses, Charge Air: Removal

WARNING:

If the engine was just turned off, the air intake system tubes may be hot.

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the right wheel house splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE .
  4. Remove the left wheel house splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE .

  5. Remove the four bolts (1) from the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) front shroud (2).

  6. Remove push pins (4) and the front CAC Shroud (3).
  7. Remove push pins (1) and the rear CAC Shroud (2).

  8. Remove the right side bolts (1) from the CAC rear shroud.

  9. Remove the left side bolts (1) from the CAC rear shroud (2).

  10. Loosen clamp (3) and disconnect the right CAC hose (1) from cooler (2).

  11. Loosen clamp (2) and disconnect the left CAC hose (1) from cooler.

  12. Remove the left side CAC bracket bolt (2).

  13. Remove right side bolts (1) and the CAC
  14. If required, remove bolt and the right side CAC mounting bracket.
  15. If required, remove bolt and the left side CAC support bracket.
