The PM Sensor module internally detects and reports to the PCM that the difference between the module's two PCB temperature sensors is below -13°C (8°F) or above 20°C (68°F) for 3 seconds. The PCM will light the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) if this diagnostic runs and fails in 2 consecutive drive cycles. The PCM will turn off the MIL when the diagnostic runs and passes in 4 consecutive drive cycles.
