Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool check active DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE AMMONIA SENSOR NOTE:
The Ammonia Sensor Module has two harness connectors. One connector is routed to the Ammonia Sensor Probe (in the exhaust). The other connector is routed back to the PCM and the PDC. The harness wiring to the Probe is NOT shown in the MINI Wiring Schematic above. Follow the instructions below using
wiring color only
for identification.
Are the P24E1, P24EA, or U12A4 present?
Yes
- Perform the P24E1, P24EA, or U12A4 diagnostic procedure before proceeding.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE AMMONIA SENSOR CONNECTOR
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Ammonia Sensor from the module.
- Visually inspect the Ammonia Sensor harness connector and terminals for the following:
- Damaged harness connector or locking tab
- Broken, bent, pushed out or spread terminals
- Signs or corrosion or water intrusion
- Missing or damaged connector seals
Were any problems found with the connector or terminals?
Yes
- Repair or clean the connector or terminals. If appropriate repairs cannot be made, replace the Ammonia Sensor.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Ammonia Sensor in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
