- First Diagnostic:
The PM Sensor module detects and reports to the PCM that the boost voltage on the supply circuit between the sensor module and the particulate measuring electrodes in the probe goes above 2V for 3 seconds.
- Second Diagnostic:
The PM Sensor probe temperature is below 44°C (112°F), or the difference between probe temperature and EGT Sensor 1/5 temperature is above 43°C (109°F).
- The difference between the PM Sensor probe temperature and the modeled temperature is below 104°C (220°F) or is above 75°C (167°F).
- The PCM will light the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) if either diagnostic runs and fails in 2 consecutive drive cycles.
- The PCM will turn off the MIL when the diagnostic runs and passes in 4 consecutive drive cycles.
