- First Diagnostic:
The PM Sensor module detects and reports to the PCM that the boost voltage on the supply circuit between the sensor module and the particulate measuring electrodes in the probe goes above 2V for 3 seconds.
- Second Diagnostic:
The PM Sensor module detects and reports to the PCM that the current on the return circuit between the sensor module and the particulate measuring electrodes in the probe goes above 41 micro-amps for 3 seconds.
- The PCM will light the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) if either diagnostic runs and fails in 2 consecutive drive cycles. The PCM will turn off the MIL when the diagnostic runs and passes in 4 consecutive drive cycles.
