Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Ignition on, engine not running.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
      NOTE:

      If there any Intake Manifold Temperature Sensor or Coolant Temperature Sensor DTCs present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.

      NOTE:

      If DTCs P2044, P2045, or U02A2 are present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.

      Is this DTC active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. DEF QUALITY SENSOR 
    1. Turn ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the DEF Quality Sensor harness connector.
      NOTE:

      Check connectors for corrosion or foreign materials- Clean/repair as necessary.

      Are there dirty or damaged pins?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Replace the DEF Quality Sensor in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
