Set Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2017 RAM 2500 HD. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors both the Upper Switch Bank PTO switch (direct input) and the PTO pressure switch status (via CAN BUS from the VSIM). If the PCM detects a stuck PTO switch, short in the Upper Switch Bank or if the monitored PTO pressure switch status does not indicate the PTO system is in operation it will set this DTC. This is a one trip fault.

NOTE:

The Upfitter may elect to use an external PTO Switch instead of the button located in the (Chrysler) Upper Switch Bank.

NOTE:

The Upfitter is required to connect a ground to the VSIM as part of the PTO installation. If this is not done, the PTO will be disabled. There will be no RPM increase when requesting PTO.

NOTE:

The Upfitter is given two jumper harnesses in the Upfitter Kit. One is used on a PTO-equipped vehicle. The other is used for a non-PTO (or 'Aux 5') equipped vehicle. If the wrong jumper harness is used, the PTO will be disabled. There will be no RPM increase when requesting PTO.
