Section 1569 (Engine Cooling System - 2500 Hd): Engine: Thermostat: Removal: 6.4L

WARNING:

Do not loosen the radiator draincock with the cooling system hot and pressurized. Serious burns from the coolant can occur.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing and position aside.

  4. Disconnect the electric thermostat wire harness connector (2).
  5. Remove the bolts (1) and thermostat with housing assembly (3).
