Bottle, Pressurized Coolant: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Partially drain coolant until the coolant recovery bottle (3) and overflow hose (2) are completely empty. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the right battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, REMOVAL .

  4. Disconnect the coolant level sensor wire harness connector (2).
  5. Using the hose clamp pliers (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp), remove the lower coolant hose from coolant recovery bottle (3).
  6. Remove the coolant bottle lower nut (4).

  7. De-attach the two coolant hose retainers (1 and 3).

  8. De-attach wire harness connector (1) from cowl and remove the wire harness from stud (2).

  9. Remove the two nuts (1) and position the coolant recovery bottle (2) forward to gain access to hose clamps.

  10. Using the hose clamp pliers (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp), remove the two coolant hoses (2) and the coolant bottle (3).
