RH - Drag Link To Tie Rod

CAUTION:

Verify that equal number of thread engagement exists on both ends of adjuster sleeve and that the adjuster sleeve clamps cover the threaded ends.

NOTE:

Prior to installing tapered end suspension components, clean male and female surfaces with brake clean.

  1. Install the tie rod (12) into the adjuster sleeve (8) and into the steering knuckle.
  2. Install the drag link (3) to the tie rod (12). Install the nut (2) and tighten to specifications. Refer to LINKAGE, LINK AND COIL, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the tire and wheels as necessary. Refer to WHEELS, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle. Center the steering wheel and adjust the toe. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    NOTE:

    Position the clamp on the sleeve so retaining bolt is located on the bottom side of the sleeve.

  5. After adjustment tighten tie rod adjustment sleeve clamp bolt (11) to specifications. Refer to LINKAGE, LINK AND COIL, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
