Manifold, Exhaust: Removal: Left

  1. Remove the left front tire and wheel. Refer to TIRES & WHEELS (SERVICE INFORMATION) 2500 HD & 3500 HD
  2. Remove the left front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL
  3. Saturate the bolts and nuts with Mopar® Rust Penetrant or equivalent and allow 5 minutes for penetration.
  4. Remove the left catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold bolts (3).

  5. Remove the nut and bolt securing the oil the dip stick to allow the dipstick to be positioned aside when necessary.
  6. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield nuts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.
    NOTE: The bolts used to secure the exhaust manifold are stainless steel at locations 5 and 6. All bolts removed must be installed in the same location were they were removed from.
  7. Using the sequence shown, remove the left side exhaust manifold bolts.

  8. Remove the exhaust manifold and gasket.
  9. Inspect the exhaust manifold for any damage. INSPECTION 
  10. Clean the mating surfaces.
