Transmission Verification Test-8HP45-845RE

  1. Reinstall any removed components.
  2. Reconnect any disconnected electrical connectors.
  3. With the scan tool, erase TCM DTCs.
  4. With the scan tool, erase ESM DTCs.
  5. With the scan tool, erase ABS DTCs.
  6. With the scan tool, erase PCM DTCs.
    CAUTION:

    Apply the parking brake.

  7. With the scan tool, display the Transmission Temperature.
  8. Start the engine and allow the transmission fluid temperature to reach 43° C (110° F).
  9. Check for Transmission fluid leaks.
  10. If internal transmission components were repaired or replaced check the Transmission fluid level and adjust if necessary. Refer to FLUID AND FILTER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  11. If any internal transmission repairs were performed or the Transmission Control Module (TCM) was replaced, perform the TCM ADAPTATION procedure. Refer to 8HP45/845RE TCM PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE .
  12. Perform the ROAD TEST PROCEDURE

    ROAD TEST PROCEDURE 

    1. Operate the vehicle in a manner that will allow 15-20 upshifts through all of the gears.
    2. Allow these shifts to occur from 0 kPh (0 mph) to 72 kPh (45 mph) with a constant throttle opening of 20 to 25 degrees.
    3. Operate the vehicle below 40 kPh (25 mph) and then perform a throttle kick-down maneuver to 1st gear. Do this several times from below 40 kPh (25 mph).
    4. With the scan tool, read TCM DTCs.

    Did any TCM DTCs set?

    Yes 

    No 

    • Test complete.
