Severe Duty Conditions

++ Change the engine oil and engine oil filter at every 3, 000 miles (5 000 km) or 3 months if using your vehicle under any of the following severe duty conditions:

  • Change the engine oil and engine oil filter.++
  • Rotate tires.
  • Lube the front drive shaft fitting (2500/3500 (4x4) models only).

  • If using your vehicle for any of the following: Dusty or off-road conditions. Inspect the engine air cleaner filter, replace if necessary.
  • Lube the front drive shaft fitting (2500/3500 (4x4) models only).
  • Inspect the brake linings, replace if necessary.
  • Inspect the front suspension, tie rod ends and boot seals for cracks or leaks and all parts for damage, wear, improper looseness or end play; replace if necessary.
  • Inspect the CV joints. Perform the first inspection at 15, 000 miles (24 000 km) or 12 months.
  • Inspect exhaust system. Perform the first inspection at 15, 000 miles (24 000 km) or 12 months.

  • Replace the spark plugs (5.7L Engine).

  • Adjust parking brake on vehicles equipped with four-wheel disc brakes.
  • Inspect the CV joints.
  • Inspect exhaust system.
  • Inspect the front suspension, tie rod ends and boot seals for cracks or leaks and all parts for damage, wear, improper looseness or end play; replace if necessary.
  • Inspect the transfer case fluid.

  • Change the transfer case fluid if using your vehicle for any of the following: police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing.

  • Inspect the brake linings, replace if necessary.
  • Adjust parking brake on vehicles equipped with four-wheel disc brakes.
  • Inspect the front & rear axle fluid, change if using your vehicle for police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing.
  • Inspect the CV joints.
  • Inspect exhaust system.
  • Inspect the front suspension, tie rod ends and boot seals, replace if necessary.
  • Inspect the transfer case fluid.

  • Change the transfer case fluid if using your vehicle for any of the following: police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing.
  • Replace accessory drive belt(s).

+ This maintenance is recommended by the manufacturer to the owner, but is not required to maintain emissions warranty.
