Inner Tie Rod End

  1. Remove the outer tie rod end. Refer to END, TIE ROD, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the jam nut from the inner tie rod.

  3. Remove the clamps (1, 2) for the inner tie rod boot (3).
  4. Remove the boot (3) and discard.

  5. Install (special tool #10087-9, Socket, Inner Tie Rod) (1) onto the Inner Tie Rod.

  6. Install (special tool #10087-2A, Adapter Wrench, Inner Tie Rod) (1) onto the Inner Tie Rod End.

  7. Install (special tool #10417, Holder, EPS Steering Rack) (1) onto the EPS Steering Rack on the non-screw side (Driver's Side) to prevent damage to the internal working of the EPS unit during loosening and remove the inner tie rod end.
