Section 1110 (Engine Cooling System - 1500): Engine: Thermostat: Installation: 3.0L

  1. Install a new O-ring seal (1) onto the thermostat housing (2).

  2. Install the thermostat housing assembly (2) and tighten bolts (1) to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.).

  3. Install upper radiator hose (1) onto thermostat housing.

  4. Connect the low fuel supply (2) and return lines (1) to the fuel injection pump.

  5. Install the fuel injection pump insulator and blocker shield (1). Tighten the bolts (2) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
  6. Fill cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  7. Connect negative battery cable to battery.
  8. Start and warm the engine. Check for leaks.

  9. Install the engine cover (1).
  10. Position thermostat housing (2) onto the water pump.
