3.0L - Diesel

WARNING:

Because of high spring tension, do not attempt to disassemble automatic tensioner. Unit is serviced as an assembly (except for pulley on tensioner).

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the engine cover (1).
  3. Remove the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to BOTTLE, PRESSURIZED COOLANT, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the electric vacuum pump. Refer to PUMP, ELECTRIC VACUUM, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .

  6. Remove the bolts (1) and the belt tensioner (2) from the engine front cover.
