Diagnostic Test

- VISUAL INSPECTION
- Turn ignition off.
- Perform a visual inspection of the Intake system for disconnected hoses, loose hose clamps, debris or foreign objects in the intake system between the Turbocharger and the Intake Manifold.
Were any disconnected hoses, loose clamps found and/or debris or foreign objects found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Go To 2
- DUAL SNORKEL AIRBOX
- Please inspect the following:
- Large debris blocking doors from moving fully.
- Mud caked on doors.
- Foam not sealing to fender or ram duct.
- Broken linkage.
- Water drain holes full of debris.
- Air filter soaked with water.
- Check back into fender for a collapsed or perforated tube (may have to remove fender well).
Were any problems found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Go To 3
- Please inspect the following:
- CHECK THE INTAKE SYSTEM
- Perform the INTAKE AIR SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING, 6.7L
.
Were any leaks found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Go To 4
- Perform the INTAKE AIR SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING, 6.7L
.
- CHECK THE EGR SYSTEM FOR RESTRICTIONS
- Check the EGR System to include the EGR Valve, Crossover Tube, and Cooler Bypass Valve for restrictions.
Were any restrictions found?
Yes
- Perform the appropriate repair.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L .
- Check the EGR System to include the EGR Valve, Crossover Tube, and Cooler Bypass Valve for restrictions.
