Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Block the Light Sensor in the Interior Rearview Mirror.
- Shift the transmission to Drive (engine not running)
- Wait two minutes.
- With the scan tool, read DDM DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension and repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE (P135) DRIVER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO BATTERY
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between ground and the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit at the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
Is the voltage above 0.8 volts?
Yes
- Repair the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE RESISTANCE BETWEEN THE (P135) DRIVER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT AND THE (P136) DRIVER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR RETURN CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Measure the resistance between the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and the (P136) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit at the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
Is the resistance above 100.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and (P136) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Return circuit for high resistance.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE (P135) DRIVER AUTO DAY/NIGHT MIRROR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO ANOTHER SIGNAL OR DRIVER CIRCUIT
- Check for continuity between the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and all Signal or Driver circuits at the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
Is there continuity between the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and any Signal or Driver circuits?
Yes
- Repair the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit for a short to another Signal or Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Replace the Driver Door Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, DOOR, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Check for continuity between the (P135) Driver Auto Day/Night Mirror Signal circuit and all Signal or Driver circuits at the Driver Outside Rearview Mirror (C1) harness connector.
