Assembly, Diesel Exhaust Fluid Pump: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate both of the negative battery cables.
  2. Drain the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank. Refer to DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID EMISSIONS [ETJ, ETK], STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Using the (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) (1), remove the lock ring (3) from the DEF tank.
  4. Remove the DEF pump and level sensor (2) from tank.

  5. Remove and discard O-ring seal (1).
