Section 889 (Engine Cooling System - 2500 Hd & 3500 Hd): Engine: Thermostat: Removal: 6.4L

WARNING:

Do not loosen the radiator draincock with the cooling system hot and pressurized. Serious burns from the coolant can occur.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  3. Remove the upper radiator hose (4) at the thermostat housing (1) and position aside.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
  5. Remove the thermostat housing mounting bolts (2), thermostat housing (3) and thermostat.
