Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR OTHER TCM DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
1. With the scan tool, read Transmission Control Module (TCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
  Are any other TCM DTCs set?
  
  Yes
  - Repair other TCM DTCs. Refer to the DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX - 8HP70 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 1500 article .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Go To 2
CHECK FOR POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) DTCS
1. With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
  Are any PCM DTCs set?
  
  Yes
  - Repair PCM DTCs. Refer to the DTC INDEX - 1500 article .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
  No
  - Using the schematics as a guide, check the TCM connector and all related in-line connector terminals for corrosion, damage, or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace and program the TCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to VALVE BODY, REMOVAL . Refer to 8HP70 TCM PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE .
  - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
