Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    NOTE:

    If DTCs P0106-00, P0107-00, P0108-00, or P0182-00 are present, perform the Diagnostics for those DTCs before continuing with this one.

    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record all Freeze frame data.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
    5. Turn the ignition on.
    6. Start the engine. It may be necessary to run the vehicle through various normal driving conditions to reset this DTC.
    7. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC reset?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Perform to the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT DTC .
  2. POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE 
    1. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
    2. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
    3. Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
    4. Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

      Were any problems found?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information.
      • Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to PCM VERIFICATION TEST .
