Cooler, Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION (EGR): Installation: Installation

If removed, install the EGR cooler manifold (1). Tighten the bolts (2) to 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).

Clean the O-ring sealing surfaces.
Install NEW O-ring seals (6) onto the EGR cooler and mounting bracket (7).
Lubricate and install NEW lower O-ring seals (5) onto spacers (4) and install the spacers into the EGR cooler mounting bracket (7).
Lubricate and install NEW upper O-ring seals (3) onto EGR cooler (2).
Install the EGR cooler assembly (2). Tighten the bolts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

Install the bolt (1) at the rear EGR cooler bypass valve support bracket (2) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

Using a NEW gasket, install the exhaust tube (2). Tighten the bolts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).

Connect the EGR cooler vacuum bypass hose (1).

Connect the EGR valve wire harness connector (2).

Connect EGR temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).
Install the EGR tube. Refer to TUBE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), INSTALLATION .
Fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Install the front skid plate. Refer to PLATE, SKID, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
Connect the negative battery cable.
