Section 797 (Starting (Service Information) - 1500): Starter: Removal: 3.6L

- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the starter heat shield (1).
- Remove the battery positive cable connector eyelet (2) from the solenoid battery terminal stud.
- Disconnect the starter relay solenoid electrical connector (1) from the solenoid terminal connector receptacle.
- Remove the two starter bolts (4).
- Move the starter (3) motor towards the front of vehicle far enough for the nose of the starter pinion housing to clear the housing.
- Remove the starter motor.
