Radiator, Engine Cooling: Installation: Diesel

- If removed, install the A/C condenser. Tighten bolts to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- If removed, install the electric cooling fan. Tighten bolts to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.).
- Install the rubber insulators to the lower radiator mounting features (alignment dowel and support bracket at the lower part of the radiator).
- Position the radiator (2) into the engine compartment. Take care not to damage cooling fins when installing. Tighten the left bolt (1) to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).
- Install the right radiator mounting bolts (1). Tighten bolts to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).
- Install the coolant overflow hose (2) to the radiator (1).
- Connect the electric cooling fan wire harness connector (1).
- Using care, guide the lower left side A/C condenser/transmission combination cooler mounting bracket (2) into the lower mount located on the left lower side of the radiator.
- Install the three A/C condenser/transmission combination cooler mounting brackets (10) to the radiator (3). Tighten the bolts to 2.2 N.m (20 in. lbs.).
- Install the bolt (8) that secures the condenser jumper line tapping block (7) to the radiator. Tighten the bolt securely.
- Install the bolt securing the transmission cooler line (1) to radiator (3) bracket (2). Tighten the bolt securely.
- Install the front grille. Refer to GRILLE, INSTALLATION .
- Install the upper radiator hose (2) to radiator (1).
- Raise and secure the vehicle.
- Install the lower radiator hose (1) to radiator (2).
- Install the lower radiator cover (2).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the negative battery cable.
- Fill cooling system with coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Check the system for any leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
- Operate the engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system fluid levels.
