Diagnostic Test

- REFLASH PCM
- Using the scan tool, reflash the PCM with latest software.
Was the flash successful?
Yes
- Go to 2.
No
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage or pushed out terminals. Pay particular attention to the power and ground circuits. If no problems are found, replace the PCM and perform programming procedures. For diesel, refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, 6.7L DIESEL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to the 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
- Using the scan tool, reflash the PCM with latest software.
- POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
- Start the Engine and run for one minute.
- With the scan tool, read PCM DTCs.
Did DTC P0604 set?
Yes
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) terminals and connectors for corrosion, damage or pushed out terminals. - Perform the TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to the 68RFE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
