Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record all Freeze frame data.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
    5. Start the engine and let idle for one minute.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. CHECK THE (N33) INTAKE AIR DIVERTER FEEDBACK CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Disconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
    2. Disconnect the IAD Valve harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (N33) IAD Feedback circuit at the IAD Valve harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (N33) INTAKE AIR DIVERTER FEEDBACK CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (Z915) VALVE GROUND 
    1. Measure the resistance between the (N33) IAD Feedback circuit and the (Z915) Valve Ground at the IAD Valve harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short between the (N33) IAD Feedback circuit and the (Z915) Valve Ground.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. INTAKE AIR DIVERTER VALVE 
    1. Replace the Intake Air Diverter Valve in accordance with the Service Information. 
      NOTE:

      The Intake Air Diverter valve cannot be serviced separately. It is part of the Air Box.

    2. Reconnect the IAD Valve harness connector.
    3. Reconnect the PCM C2 harness connector.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      No
