Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record all Freeze frame data.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC reset?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION - 6.7L .
- CHECK THE (K48) CHARGE AIR COOLER TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Temperature/Pressure Map (T/P MAP) Sensor harness connector.
- Disconnect the PCM C1 harness connector.NOTE:
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (K48) Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Signal circuit at the T/P MAP Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (K48) Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
- CHECK THE (K48) CHARGE AIR COOLER TEMPERATURE SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Measure the resistance of the (K48) Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Signal circuit between the T/P MAP Sensor harness connector and the PCM C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (K48) Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Signal circuit for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
- Measure the resistance of the (K48) Charge Air Cooler Temperature Sensor Signal circuit between the T/P MAP Sensor harness connector and the PCM C1 harness connector.
- TEMPERATURE/PRESSURE MAP SENSOR
- Replace the Temperature/Pressure MAP Sensor.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off for 75 seconds.
- Start the vehicle. It may be necessary to drive vehicle to reset DTC.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
No
- Repair is complete.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST - 6.7L .
