  1. Inspect fuel pressure sensor sealing surface on fuel rail (1).
  2. Lubricate sensor threads with clean diesel fuel.
    CAUTION:

Only use a socket when installing the fuel pressure sensor. Failure to follow these instructions will damage the fuel pressure sensor.

    NOTE:

Do not use an impact socket, the socket wall is too thick and will not work.

  3. Using a 27 mm thin walled socket (3), install fuel pressure sensor (2). Tighten sensor to 70 N.m (52 ft. lbs.).

    CAUTION:

Anytime a high-pressure line is removed from the engine, its fuel connector nut (12) at the cylinder head must first be retorqued.

  5. Tighten the fuel injector connector retainer nut (13) at the cylinder head to 55 N.m (41 in. lbs.).
  6. Install cylinder No. 5 and No. 6 fuel tubes (3 and 6).
  7. Tighten fuel tube at cylinder head to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
  8. Tighten fuel tube nuts at fuel rail to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
  9. Install the No. 6 fuel tube shield (5). Tighten bolts (4) to 43 N.m (32 ft. lbs.).
